Aviadarts 2018 all-army contest starts near Ryazan

The all-army stage of the Aviadarts 2018 contest started in the Ryazan Region. The solemn ceremony attended by all the teams took place at the Dyagilevo airfield.

The all-army stage will be held in the Ryazan Region from May 23 to June 2. Air crews of the Aerospace Force, four Military Districts and the Northern Fleet are among the participants.

Within the contest, the pilots will use MiG-29SMT, Su-27SM3, Su-30SM, Su-35, Su-34, Su-24M, Su-25, Tu-22M3, Il-76MD aircraft and Mi-24, Mi-35, Ka-52, Mi-8 helicopters.

In total, the contеst gathered 60 crews of fighter, bomber, assault, army, long-range and military transport aviation.

The pilots will compete in the following test disciplines: physical training, aerial reconnaissance, piloting technique, combat employment against ground targets. In addition, fighters will work out penetration of the simulated enemy’s air defence system and some dogfight elements.

The contest results will be presented in seven categories within the Aviation Arms.

The contest will last until June 2.

"The contest will define the best pilots in each category. They are to train for the fourth, international stage of Aviardarts. The Aerospace Force has taken into account the experience of last year's competitions held in China. The forthcoming international stage of the contest is to be held in the summer in Russia and again be attended by China, Kazakhstan and Belarus," stated Lieutenant General Andrei Yudin, Commander of the Air Force / Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Aerospace Forces.
