The terminal served the first cargo in September 2017, in next 2 months all cargo operations on domestic flights were successfully moved to the new terminal. It’s a record-breaking time for similar-scale projects. Transition of cargo operations on international flights was completed in January 2018.

The cargo complex is equipped with a unique system for automated storage and processing, manufactured by Lödige. Automation level of production processes reaches 60%.

There are independent container and bulk storage areas with unified automated operating system in the terminal. “Moscow Cargo” is capable of handling all types of dangerous cargo including explosive and radioactive materials.

Earlier unprecedented in Russia, broad capabilities of the terminal for storing pharma cargo allowed AirBridgeCargo to obtain the IATA CEIV certificate for transportation of pharma cargoes throughout the route network.

“Moscow Cargo” is equipped with a comfortable client’s area, where customers can dispatch and receive cargo. New standards of customer service have been set: electronic queuing system and 20 counters for shippers and consignees to obtain documents and make payments. In this regard, the design and construction of the second stage of the cargo terminal with an additional capacity of 380 thousand tonnes of cargo annually will be started this year. Sheremetyevo International Airport will strengthen its position as the European hub for global cargo flows in partnership with PJSC Aeroflot and Volga-Dnepr.
