The installation of the SaM146 engines on the Be-200 amphibious aircraft instead of the currently used Ukrainian D-436 is planned in the second half of 2020. This was announced by General Director of the United Engine-Building Corporation (UEC) Alexander Artyukhov at International Forum of Engine Building (MFD-2018).

According to him, SaM146 will be installed on the Be-200 amphibious aircraft with a completely new nacelle, because of "another engine attachment".

"The engine is above the wing of the aircraft - therefore, there it will be necessary to conduct a large design volume, in the first place, this determines the time," he said.

Earlier, the media quoted Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Oleg Bocharov as saying that Ukraine had banned the supply of D-436 engines and their modifications to the Russian Federation, which are installed on An-148 and Be-200 aircraft.
