JSC GLONASS, the operator of Russia’s commercial satellite orbital grouping, is switching to self-recoupment and the Russian government will stop its financing from 2018, Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin reported to President Vladimir Putin during a working meeting on Tuesday. This reported by TASS.

"JSC GLONASS, which is the federal operator of this system, is a company wholly owned by the state," the vice-premier said.

"I also want to inform you that from this year we are stopping state financing because this organization has switched to self-recoupment," Rogozin said.

In the vice-premier’s opinion, "this is very important" and "underlines the success of the policy of commercializing the possibilities, which Russian orbital systems are creating."

In turn, Putin highly praised the results achieved. ‘Yes, this is a very serious result, all the more so, a positive result, and that is why it is necessary to move further," the Russian president said.
