Seven US military aircraft has conducted reconnaissance missions in the eastern Mediterranean near the coast of Syria, where Russia's Hmeymim airbase and Tartus naval base are located, RIA Novosti news agency quoted data of monitoring of military aviation, which are published in the Twitter-account Mil Radar.

These are the six US Navy P-8A Poseidon anti-submarine patrol aircraft that departed from the Sigonella airbase on the Italian island of Sicily, as well as the EP-3E Aries II radio-electronic reconnaissance aircraft launched from the base on the Greek island of Crete.
