On board the crashed An-26 in Syria were 39 Russian servicemen

6 crew members and 33 passengers were on board the crashed An-26 at the landing at the Khmeimim air base, their families will be provided the necessary assistance and support, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported.

Earlier it was reported that there were 32 people on the plane at the time of its crash.

Russian An-26 military transport plane crashed on March 6 at about 15:00 Moscow time during landing at the Khmeimim airfield. The plane collided with the ground, not flying about 500 meters to the runway. The crew of the plane and the passengers died. The cause of the crash, according to preliminary information, could be a technical malfunction.
