Today, the Aviadarts 2018 final qualification contest has kicked off at the airfield of the SMD air assault regiment stationed in Krasnodar Krai. The contest is being held as part of preparation for the International Army Games 2018.

The pilots will perform tasks using the Su-25SM attack aircraft, Su-30SM jet fighters, Su-34 jet bombers, Ka-52 Alligator and Mi-35 assault helicopters, as well as Mi-8AMTSh Terminator combat transport helicopters.

During the contest tasks, pilots will launch non-guided missiles, drop bombs and fire 30mm gun at ground targets simulating enemy’s military hardware and manpower.

The contest will last for seven days. More than 40 best air crews of the Southern Military District are involved in the competition.
