An Antonov An-148 plane owned by the Russian Emergency Ministry has successfully carried out a medical evacuation of 3 seriously-ill people from the cities of Grozny and Simferopol to Nizhny Novgorod and Saint Petersburg. The patients are in urgent need of highly-qualified and high-tech medical aid.
The flying hospital is rigged with modern equipment and special medical modules, ventilators and cardiac monitors allowing providing medical care aboard.
During the flight the patients were accompanied by medical specialists of the Emergency Ministry’s State Central Airmobile Rescue Team (Tsentrospas) and the Healthcare Ministry’s All-Russian Disaster Medicine Center Zashchita.
Once in Nizhny Novgorod, one of the patients from Grozny was transported to the Volga Medical Research Institute and then the jet proceeded to Saint Petersburg to deliver the second patient from Grozny and the one from Simferopol to the Almazov National Medical Research Center and Saint Petersburg Tuberculosis Research Institute.
