An Ilyushin Il-76 plane owned by the Russian Emergency Ministry has arrived today in Rostov-on-Don from international airport of Zhukovsky to carry out a medical evacuation of 11 seriously-ill people, including 10 children. They were transported to Saint Petersburg and Moscow. The medevac was carried out in cooperation with foundation Just help of Doctor Liza.
The patients are in urgent need of highly-qualified and high-tech medical aid.
The flying hospital is rigged with modern equipment and special medical modules, ventilators and cardiac monitors allowing providing medical care aboard.
During the flight the patients were accompanied by medical specialists of the Emergency Ministry’s State Central Airmobile Rescue Team (Tsentrospas), of the Healthcare Ministry’s All-Russian Disaster Medicine Center Zashchita and a psychologist of the Emergency Ministry’s Center for Emergency Psychological Aid.
Four of the children were delivered to hospitals in Saint Petersburg, while seven other patients, including 6 children, will be delivered to hospitals in Moscow.
