Progress MS-08 logistics vehicle has been transported for integration with the launch vehicle

RSC Energia (being part of ROSCOSMOS) specialists working at the Baikonur launch site have conducted designers’ inspection of the new-series cargo transport vehicle Progress MS-08 and performed the encapsulation of the medium launch vehicle Soyuz-2.1а.

The transportation was performed by rail. A set of processing activities for final integration will be conducted at the integration and checkout facility of the launch vehicles within the processing operations.

The launch of Progress MS-08 under the International Space Station is planned for February 11, 2018.

Progress МС-08 will deliver to the ISS 1390 kg of “dry cargo”, 890 kg of propellant in the refueling system tanks, 420 kg of water in Rodnik systems tanks, as well as 46 kg of bottled compressed oxygen and.

Scientific equipment including the Icarus flight model and components for the life support system, as well as containers with food, clothing, medical supplies and personal hygiene items for the crewmembers are stowed in the cargo compartment.
