Iranian Embassy has sent to the Russian Ministry for Emergency Situations a note thanking for the assistance in searching for the crash site of an ATR 72 plane.
In the note Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Iran in Russia Mehdi Sanai expresses gratitude to personally Minister for Emergency Situations Vladimir Puchkov and the whole team of the Ministry for providing valuable information on location of the crash site.
Earlier, Minister Puchkov received from the Government of Iran a request of assistance in locating the crash site using satellites. Necessary information on the presumed crash site was relayed via diplomatic channels without delay.
The ATR 72 operated by Aseman Airlines en route from Tehran to Yasuj crashed on 18 February near Mount Dena (the Zagros Mountains) in Isfahan Province. The plane was carrying 60 passengers and 6 crew members.
