More than 30 crews of Ka-52, Mi-26 and Mi-8AMTSh helicopters take part in the army aviation drills, Western Military District, starting form today at the military airfields and air force ranges in the Leningrad, Smolensk and Pskov regions.
Attack helicopters will carry out missile and bomb strikes against engineering fortifications, armoured vehicles, and hostile objects simulated by full-size targets.
The crews of combat Mi-8AMTSH and heavy Mi-26 helicopters will practise airlift of airborne troops, weapons, military hardware and special cargoes, including those suspended on the cargo hook, as well as landing on unprepared pads.
