Pilots of the Russian Kant Air Base in Kyrgyzstan are practising flights in complicated weather conditions of the highlands.
At Edelweiss training ground, the Su-25SM short-range bombers train search and reconnaissance of ground facilities during a heavy snowfall that complicated visual orienteering.
The daily flight time for airplanes amounts to 2 – 3.5 hours and for helicopters reaches 2 – 4.5 hours.
The Kant Air Base houses the Su-25SM airplanes and Mi-8MTV helicopters. It is organic to the Central Military District, and is an integral part of the CSTO Collective Rapid Reaction Force. The base provides air security for the CSTO countries.
