The S7 Group airlines1 have reviewed the results of their operating activities for January 2018. Last month, the airlines carried 1,098,444 passengers, which is an 8.3% increase over January 2017.
S7 Airlines carried 794,606 passengers on domestic flights, which is a 9.4% increase over January 2017. The growth on international destinations amounted to 5.7%. In January 2018, the airlines carried 303,838 passengers on its international flights.
In January 2018, the passenger turnover increased by 6.9% and amounted to 2,240,561 thousand passenger-kilometres, the cargo turnover increased by 6.3% and amounted to 209,815 thousand tonne-kilometres.
“Last month, we saw a steady growth in demand for both domestic and international destinations. In the height of the ski season, flights to Sochi, Munich and the cities of northern Italy and Austria were very popular among our passengers. On the other hand, we have already started preparations for the upcoming spring and summer travel season. In January, S7 Airlines started selling tickets for several new flights to Western Europe: from Moscow to Tenerife and Bari, from St. Petersburg to Alicante and Pula,” notes Igor Veretennikov, the Commerce Director of S7 Group.
In January, S7 Airlines was the first among Russian airlines to offer passengers an option to pay for ancillary services with Miles of the S7 Priority Loyalty Programme.
