Iranian authorities have sent to the Russian Ministry for Emergency Situations a note thanking for the assistance in searching for the crash site of an ATR 72 plane.

The other day, Russian Minister for Emergency Situations Vladimir Puchkov received from the government of Iran a request of assistance in locating the crash site using satellites. Necessary information on the presumed crash site was relayed via diplomatic channels without delay.

The Russian Emergency Ministry is going to continue cooperating with Iranian colleagues and is going to provide them with more precise information based satellite monitoring data needed for efficient search operations.

The ATR 72 operated by Aseman Airlines en route from Tehran to Yasuj crashed Sunday near Mount Dena (the Zagros Mountains) in Isfahan Province. The plane was carrying 60 passengers and 6 crew members.
