Rescuers keep recovering fragments of the Antonov An-148 plane that crashed near the settlement of Stepanovskoye.
Speaking to task force working at the scene Emergency Minister Vladimir Puchkov said: “We are expanding the search area up to 50 ha. Use latest technologies, including UAVs, snowmobiles, quads and everything we have, including metal detectors.”
More than 1,500 fragments of the plane have been found and are being transported to the Gromov Flight Research Institute in the town of Zhukovsky.
1,121 people and almost 199 units of equipment who are part of the Single State Disaster Management System, including 537 people and 106 units of equipment provided by the Russian Emergency Ministry are now working at the scene.
The Emergency Minister also demanded that assistance provided to the families of the killed in the crash should be taken under control: “Continue coordinating efforts being taken to identify the victims and organize funerals. Our priority is help and support to victims’ families.”
