A MiG-29M plane has crashed in Egypt, the press service of the United Aircraft Corporation told TASS on Saturday.
The newspaper Kommersant reported earlier the crash of a MiG-29M, which had been delivered to this country in 2018 under a commercial contract, during a training flight. The Egyptian pilot was able to safely eject, according to the newspaper.
"We have the latest information about the crash of a MiG-29M of the Egyptian Air Force. In the near future our technical experts will go to Egypt to help investigate the incident," the press service reported.
The MiG-29 is a "4++" generation multi-role supersonic fighter. There are more than 20 versions of the plane, including the MiG-29M. The fighter is being operated in more than 25 countries.
