Pulkovo Airport increases passenger traffic by 11% for the first nine months of 2018

From January to September, 2018, Pulkovo St. Petersburg Airport welcomed 14,015,566 passengers, a which is 11.1% more than in the same period of 2017.

Domestic traffic grew by 8.8% to 8,327,032 passengers. International traffic increased by 14.8% and amounted to 5,688,534 passengers.

In the first three quarters of 2018, Pulkovo Airport handled 125,888 take-off and landing operations, which is an increase of 8.1% year-on-year. The maximum take-off weight handled at LED amounted to 4,539,047 tons, 10.3% more than in the same period of 2017.

In the first nine months of 2018, Rossiya Airlines, Aeroflot, S7 Airlines, Pobeda and Ural Airlines were the largest Russian carriers in terms of passenger numbers at Pulkovo. In total, they provided services to 8,222,849 passengers at St. Petersburg Airport or 58.7% of the total traffic for that period.

Among foreign airlines, Lufthansa, Belavia, Uzbekistan Airways, Turkish Airlines, and KLM became the leaders at St. Petersburg Airport for the 9-month period of 2018. In total, they handled 977,267 passengers at Pulkovo or 7% of the total airport traffic.

PULKOVO AIRPORT OPERATIONAL RESULTS FOR SEPTEMBER, 2018

In September, 2018, 1,861,651 passengers traveled through Pulkovo St. Petersburg Airport, a number 11.6% higher than in the same month of 2017.

Domestic traffic increased by 13.4% to 1,053,616 passengers compared to the same period of 2017. International traffic grew by 9.3% year-on-year and amounted to 808,035 passengers.

In September, 2018, Pulkovo Airport handled 15,358 take-off and landing operations, which is an increase of 5.5% to the level of September, 2017. The maximum take-off weight handled amounted to 582,807 tons, a figure 9% higher than in the same period of 2017.

In September, 2018, Rossiya Airlines, Aeroflot, S7 Airlines, Ural Airlines, and Pobeda were the largest Russian carriers in terms of passenger numbers at Pulkovo. In total, they provided services to 1,070,001 passengers or 57.5% of the total traffic at St.Petersburg Airport for that period. Among foreign airlines, the leaders were Lufthansa, Belavia, Turkish Airlines, Uzbekistan Airways, and KLM. In total, they handled 131,266 passengers at Pulkovo or 7.1% of the total airport traffic for September, 2018.

In the first three quarters of 2018, the route network of Pulkovo Airport expanded with 17 new destinations. Five new airlines started to operate scheduled flights from St. Petersburg: Sichuan Airlines, Air Malta, Germania, Onur Air, and iFly.
