Roscosmos cosmonauts Alexey Ovchinin and NASA astronaut Nick Haig flew by plane from the Kazakh city of Zhezkazgan to Baikonur, the arrival footage is transmitted by the TV channel "Russia 24".
On Thursday, the first manned space accident in the history of modern Russia took place. The Soyuz-FG launch vehicle was unable to bring the Soyuz MS-10 spacecraft with the new ISS crew into orbit, but the astronauts managed to evacuate to earth in a rescue capsule. Neither the Russian Alexey Ovchinin nor American Nick Hague, was not injured.
The accident may have been due to the fact that one of the four units of the first stage of the launch vehicle did not separate at a given time, and when it did, hit the Central unit. The reason for this could be the failure of the pyropathron system of breeding steps, told sources RIA Novosti. The situation is being investigated by a special Commission of Roscosmos.
Until the reasons for the emergency are clarified, it was decided to suspend all manned launches to the International space station, which are now carried out only from the Baikonur cosmodrome and only on the Russian Soyuz's.
