On 29 January, the SMF Yoshkar-Ola missile formation armed  with ‘Yars’ and ‘Topol’ mobile ground missile systems has started a contest for the best unmanned aerial vehicle team.

Guard and defence units from the formation’s missile regiments are participating in this contest using their ‘Typhoon-M’ anti-sabotage vehicles equipped with the ‘Eleron-3’ UAVs.

In 2013, all SMF rearmed missile formations with approximately 40 UAVs as part of ‘Typhoon-M’ vehicles. These include the Teykovo, Novosibirsk, Tagil and Yoshkar-Ola formations.
