The Baltic Fleet Marine formation is hosting airborne training.
After the 2017 autumn call-up and reinforcement of military units with young personnel, the marines began drills to train recruits in studying parachute arrangement and packing, as well as in practising parachute jump elements at specially equipped training places.
Upon completion of the training course, young servicemen will pass tests for admission to practical parachute jumps.
Since early February, the Marines have to conduct intensive practical airborne training with real landings. Up to 50 Marines of the formation personnel are to be assaulted daily from military transport planes of the Baltic Fleet Naval Aviation.
Jumps will take place in different weather conditions day and night. It is planned to conduct at least 6 airborne assaults daily.
In 2017, the BF Marines performed more than 2,000 training parachute jumps of varying complexity.
About 1,500 troops have trained and confirmed their qualification when performing airborne assault missions.
