The Black Sea Fleet stationing points carried out the joint exercise with on-duty shifts of control centres, shipborne AD teams and naval aviation units for detecting unidentified aerial targets and repeling air attacks of the simulated enemy.
According to the scenario, the mass take-off of simulated enemy tactical aircraft from airfields near the RF borders was detected.
Ship air defence means were brought into readiness for use, aircraft of the Black Sea Fleet Naval Air Force scrambled, received and analysed air data; ship electronic and visual camouflage means were activated.
At the next stage, teams of shipborne combat posts detected and classified the targets, and artillery teams eliminated the simulated enemy’s aircraft with ship air defence means by electronic launches (without real shooting), when air targets approaching to the line of fire.
In addition, the event participants practised controlling air defence forces and means to repel air strikes against stationing points, targeting and setting fire tasks for air defence posts aboard ships through various signal communications channels.
Air defence tasks were worked out by five surface ships of the Fleet’s formation, as well as by the Su-30 aircraft of the BSF Naval Air Force.
