While training flights, Naval Air Force pilots worked out interaction with the major ASW ship Vice Admiral Kulakov seamen at the Kola Bay roadstead.
In total, three Ka-27 helicopters were involved in the training flights. During the flight shift, pilots operated take-offs and landings on the deck of the warship. Pilots flied around the ship to check its radio-technical equipment, systems of air defence, signal communications and aviation control.
The Project 1155 large ASW ship Vice Admiral Kulakov is armed with ASW missile systems, antisubmarine rocket launchers, torpedo tubes and other types of artillery and missile armaments, and also can carry two Ka-27 shipborne helicopters on board.
