On 22 January the Western Military District’s air regiment has started a flight tactical exercise at the Khalino airfield, Kursk region. It involves more than twenty MiG-29SMT and Su-30SM fighters.
During several tactical exercise episodes, pilots are to practice relocation to airfields, search and destruction of air and ground targets by various aviation means, reconnaissance and dogfighting, as well as to overwhelm air defence systems. The Su-34 planes and S-300 antiaircraft missile systems are to serve as the simulated adversaries.
The engineering and technical staff of the air regiment is to prepare new runways, conceal aircraft, and maintain them on unprepared sites.
The flight tactical exercise will end on January 26.
