Aurora Airlines, being a member of Aeroflot, initiated the development of Sakhalin tourist cluster in June 2017. The idea was supported by the Sakhalin Government (Tourism Agency), Gorny Vozdukh tourism center and other tourism companies.
The main objectives of Sakhalin tourist cluster are as follows:
- increase of human resources,
- increase of tourist flow up to 600 thousand persons per year,
- improvement of transport network,
- implementation of digital program for tourism services in Sakhalin.
As the initial stage of Sakhalin tourist cluster development, Aurora suggested the establishing of tourism industry school to systematically research the tourism psychology, hospitability skills, tourism industry skills, tourism teamwork, tourism safe environment. To provide the above systematic research, they developed and implemented a new qualification program in cooperation with the Sakhalin State University.
The program training was provided in November and December 2017. The participants of the program were managers, specialists, teachers, agents relating to the tourism industry of Sakhalin. The training resulted in appropriate certificates and development of operating standards for tourism industry of Sakhalin. In December 2017, they held a Professional Contest. It is planned that in 2018 the contest will become the Professional Olympiad. The tourism contact-center project is being developed to operate on 24 / 7 basis. The initial stage of Sakhalin tourist cluster development will result in Memorandum of Cooperation to be executed by and between Aurora Airlines, Sakhalin Government (Tourism Agency), Gorny Vozdukh tourism center, Sakhalin State University.
