Due to the termination by VIM Airlines of programs of charter flights from Moscow and other cities of the Russian Federation, Russia's Federal Agency for Tourism and Association TourAssist have launched a hotline operating until the settlement of the situation, the Federal Agency for Tourism informed.
As previously reported, Vnukovo airport will accept flights carried out by VIM Airlines.
Given that the air carrier has no money resources to honor its obligations to the passengers, the Ministry of Transport and Russia's Federal Air Transport Agency made a decision to suspend charter flights of VIM Airlines to domestic and foreign destinations. At the same time, the carrier is obliged to honor its obligations to bring home the passengers who previously purchased tickets and are currently staying at resorts either through its own resources or those of subcontractors.
VIM Airlines LLC (tax number: 7713357944) is a Russian airline established in 2002. The core business of VIM Airlines is the scheduled and charter transportation of passengers from Moscow and regional Russian centers to cities of Russia, Europe, Asia, and North Africa (more than 50 destinations worldwide). The company's aircraft fleet consists of 11 medium-haul aircraft B757-200 aircraft. VIM Airlines is based at the Domodedovo airport in Moscow.
In January-August 2017, VIM Airlines increased its passenger flow by 31.4% year-on-year to 1.834 million. The passenger turnover increased by 54.4% to 4.948 billion passenger-kilometers, the seat load factor decreased by 1 p.p. to 76.1%. Cargo and mail handling grew 2.8 times to 11,659 tonnes.
