Specialists of the Russian Space Systems holding (operating as part of Russia's Federal Space Agency / ROSCOSMOS) have started the development of an onboard radio telemetry system for the Federation reusable manned spacecraft, Russian Space Systems informed.

The new radio telemetry system will be twice lighter and more functional compared with the previous generation system. 

The onboard radio telemetry system is the main transmitting-and-receiving system of a spaceship receiving commands from the ground control center and transmitting information from the spacecraft to the Earth.

The new system will manage the connection between Federation and the Earth collecting information from all its service systems: the control system, the telemetry system, the television system and the Final Experimental Demonstration Object Research (FEDOR) humanoid robot which is expected to be the only crewman of Federation during test flights.
