The second Airbus A320neo joins the S7 Airlines air fleet

S7 Airlines, a oneworld® global airline alliance member, announces that it now has the second Airbus A320neo aircraft in its fleet.

The aircraft was obtained on lease from AerCap, the aircraft leasing company. At September 22, new Airbus A320neo has made its first flight from Moscow to Omsk.

S7 Airlines has become the first Russian airline to fly these modern aircraft. The first Airbus A320neo was received directly from the factory in Toulouse in July 2017. Gradually, the aircraft of the renewed family will replace all Airbus A320 aircraft in the air fleet of the airline.

The aircraft is equipped with the latest Pratt & Whitney Pure Power PW1100G-JM engines, which reduce fuel consumption, and Sharklets wing tips made of composite materials, which improve the aerodynamic characteristics of the aircraft.

Airbus A320neo is the quietest aircraft among the aircraft of its class. The level of external noise is 19 dB lower than the ICAO requirements (Chapter 4), and the area of the sound wake when taking off is 50% smaller than that of the aircraft of the previous generation, which is important not only for passengers’ comfort but also for the comfort of people living near airports.

“More than 30,000 of our passengers has already had the chance to appreciate the level of comfort offered by these aircraft, boasting reduced noise level, a new comfortable cabin, advanced lighting and air conditioning systems. The first Airbus A320neo in the S7 Airlines air fleet has already performed more than 200 flights from Moscow to Novosibirsk, Irkutsk, Munich, Pula, Palma de Mallorca as well as Kos and Rhodes in Greece. Today, the second aircraft has also begun operating flights on domestic and international routes of the S7 Airlines route network,” said Igor Veretennikov, Commerce Director of S7 Group.

After two months of operation, the aircraft shows greater operational efficiency and improved environmental performance compared to those of the aircraft of the previous generation. Fuel consumption is reduced up to 20%, depending on the route.

Airbus A320neo of S7 Airlines is designed to carry 8 Business Class passengers and 156 Economy Class passengers, 164 in total. The aircraft cabin is the widest among its competitors, it has improved sound insulation, the most capacious overhead bins and more space under the armchairs to accommodate cabin baggage.

Its cabin also has comfortable armchairs that are equipped with sockets with a USB-connector, as well as with mobile devices holders. A small three-stage stand located at eye level allows you to fix a tablet or a smartphone on the back of the chair in front of you.

Air tickets can be purchased at s7.ru, through the iPhone app or the Android app, and at any S7 sales office. You can also learn accurate flight information, book and buy tickets by calling our Contact Centre at 8 800 700-0707 (free for Russia).
