The Russian Ministry for Emergency Situations is going to get 12 Beriyev Be-200ChS planes before 2025, said Emergency Minister Vladimir Puchkov during his Government Hour speech at the State Duma.
“The Russian Emergency Ministry is going to get 6 Be-200ChS planes by the end of 2018 and another 6 upgraded amphibious planes before 2025,” said the Minister.
He added that Ministry’s divisions across the country had been actively receiving rescue tools and new modern equipment: multipurpose Sukhoi Superjet 100 planes, Mil Mi-8MVT helicopters and fire engines with improved characteristics, robotics, UAVs and a lot of other equipment, all made in Russia.
Modern equipment allows raising the technical level and improving quality of response by Emergency Ministry’s divisions.
Mr. Puchkov pointed out that there was an integrated aerial rescue center in Krasnoyarsk that had received new Be-200ChS planes made in 2017. The center protected settlements and social infrastructure against wildfires.
“An Ilyushin Il-76 plane and Siberian rescuers Certified by INSARAG (The International Search and Rescue Advisory Group established in 1991 under the auspices of the United Nations) last year, are on round-the-clock duty. This project is implemented as part of the UN’s Global Radius and aims at protecting Siberia, Far East and Asia-Pacific Region,” the Minister said.
He added that there were helicopter crews on duty in 21 regions of the country to be deployed to perform rescue operations, to protect settlements against wildfires and to evacuate the injured.
