The MiG-31BM fighters of the Western MD intercepted cruise missiles launched by a mock enemy’s airplanes in course of the Zapad 2017 strategic exercise.

A pair of standby fighters scrambled from airfield alerted by air defence units.

During the tactical episode, the pilots detected cruise missiles launched by a mock enemy’s airplanes, and eliminated them by air-to-air missiles.

Earlier the MiG-31BM fighters were involved in repelling a mock air attack, intercepting more than 30 aircraft that were approaching the boarders of air defence area of responsibility.
