Emergency Ministry’s jet evacuates children from Rostov-on-Don to St. Petersburg and Moscow

The Russian Ministry for Emergency Situations has sent a plane today to the city of Rostov-on-Don to carry out a medical evacuation of 15 seriously-ill children with different diagnoses to hospitals in Saint Petersburg and Moscow. The medevac is being carried out in cooperation with Just Help Foundation.

All of the children are need of urgent highly-qualified and high-tech medical aid.  

The Ilyushin Il-76 plane carrying out the flight is rigged with modern equipment and special medical modules allowing controlling and supporting the state of patients and providing them with necessary aid during the flight.

During the whole operation, the patients are going to be accompanied by medical specialists of the Emergency Ministry’s Tsentrospas Team, Healthcare Ministry’s All-Russian Disaster Medicine Center Zashchita and a psychologist of the Emergency Ministry’s Center for Emergency Psychological Aid.

Three of the children are going to be delivered to the Almazov national Medical Research Center in Saint Petersburg, while the rest 12 to different hospitals in Moscow to bet highly-qualified and high-tech treatment.
