The crews of the Ka-27PL anti-ship helicopters of the Baltic Fleet Air Force practised searching, tracking and eliminating of a simulated enemy submarine at the naval training area.
According to the exercise concept, a mock hostile submarine was detected near the shipping lanes.
The Ka-27PL helicopters were sent to the area to search and track the submarine by radars and sonar devices. After detecting and defining the submarine’s location, the pilots eliminated a special mock underwater target by bombs.
The pilots carried out flights and bombing by fixed route over the Baltic Fleet naval training area.
