Specialists of aerodrome-engineering units of the Eastern military district Air Force and air defence formation completed equipping of a new field airfield in one of the Kuril Islands.
Servicemen built a runway consisting of 28,000 metal plates, installed markings of the exact landing strip, the runway centre, day landmarks and prisms for marking the strip’s beginning and end.
In addition, the means of signal communications and radiotechnical support of flights have been deployed. Certificates of state registration and the aerodrome's usefulness for operation have been received.
