Egyptian unit led by Russian Airborne instructors started new-format coordinated training exercise

It is the first time the Airborne unit of the Arab Republic of Egypt that will participate in the Defenders of Friendship 2017 exercise has launched training upon the Russian Airborne program.

From now on, the Egyptian military together with the Russian Airborne troops will perform all the combat missions including forced march, parachuting, small arms shooting, and hand-to-hand combat.

This approach is efficient in coordinated training exercise. Afterwards the Egyptian military together with the Russian Airborne troops will solve combat tasks within the exercise’s main phase including practical parachuting, maneuvering, seizing and retaining mountain pass in the Krasnodar Krai in dry subtropical climate.

A Russian reinforced airborne battalion and an Egyptian Airborne company will take part in the tactical exercise. It is the first time it is to be held in Russia at the Rayevskoye range, Krasnodar Krai.

In total, about 600 troops are to be involved in the exercise, as well as 100 pieces of the Russian Airborne combat and special hardware.
