More than 50 aircraft of the fighter, bomber, attack and long-distance aviation have been relocated to operational airfields in preparation for the Combat Commonwealth 2017 joint exercise of the Joint Air Defence System of the member countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS).
The exercise will involve long-distance Tu-22M3 bombers, Su-34 multipurpose aircraft systems, Su-30SM and Su-35 multi-purpose fighters, as well as MiG-31BM, Su-25SM, Su-24, Su-27, MiG-29SMT, Yak-130 and Mi-8AMTSh helicopters.
As part of the measures, the pilots will work out overcoming the simulated enemy’s air defence system, close manoeuvrable air combat, launching unguided rockets and firing from the air gun at ground targets, bombing, as well as repulsing the enemy’s concentrate missile air strike.
The exercises involves crews of the Aerospace Forces of the Western and Southern Military Districts.
