S7 Airlines, a oneworld® global airline alliance member, has announced that it has ordered an Embraer E170 full flight simulator by FlightSafety. The simulator will be installed and put into operation in the S7 Training aviation training centre at the end of 2018.

Full flight simulators (FFS) are designed for pilots to train their flight skills in conditions as close to a real flight as possible. They are equipped with a cockpit that is an exact copy of that of a real aircraft.

“We are adding more of Embraer E170 aircraft to the S7 Airlines air fleet and we plan to have 17 of them in total. Obtaining a full flight simulator from FlightSafety International will allow our pilots to undergo training and retraining in Russia on the basis of S7 Training, the largest training centre in Eastern Europe, under the guidance of experienced instructors. The modern visualisation system allows you to maximise the realism of a training flight and a convenient instructor station makes it possible to recreate any conditions and work out all the necessary skills,” says Vladimir Obiedkov, General Director at S7 Airlines.

“The cooperation with S7 Airlines emphasises once more our in-depth expertise in developing, manufacturing and maintaining professional training equipment that meets the highest standards of quality and reliability,” notes John Van Maren, Vice President of simulator equipment and services at FlightSafety International. “We appreciate the trust of S7 Airlines and guarantee our partner an exceptional level of service in the delivery and maintenance of the new Embraer E170 full flight simulator.”

The new simulator will be equipped with high-tech visualisation and motion control systems, as well as a multi-functional operating station with a user-friendly interface for instructors.

In April 2017, S7 Airlines received the first Embraer 170-LR airliner and became Russia’s first operator of this type of aircraft. Designed to transport 78 passengers in a spacious and comfortable cabin of the economic class, Embraer 170-LR aircraft now carry out the flights from Moscow, Novosibirsk and St. Petersburg.

Air tickets can be purchased at s7.ru, through the iPhone app or the Android app, and at any S7 sales office. You can also learn accurate flight information, book and buy tickets by calling our Contact Centre at 8 800 700-0707 (free for Russia).
