The S7 Group airline companies1 have reviewed the results of their operating activities for July 2017. Over the last month, the airlines carried 1,528,042 passengers.
451,461 passengers used international flights of the airlines and 1,076,581 passengers used domestic flights of S7 Airlines. In July, the passenger turnover has increased by 3.4% and amounted to 3,369,548 thousand passenger-kilometres, the cargo turnover has increased by 3.3% and amounted to 313,994 thousand tonne-kilometres.
S7 Airlines continues to develop the inter-regional domestic transportation programme. In July, new flights from Omsk to Novosibirsk and from Abakan to Novosibirsk were added to the schedule. Now, thanks to convenient connections at Tolmachevo airport, passengers from these cities can travel comfortably throughout the whole route network of the airline, including destinations in the Far East and Southeast Asia.
In the height of the summer season, S7 Airlines continues to receive modern aircraft. This July another Embraer 170 aircraft, which will be used for regional traffic, joined the airline fleet. Now S7 Airlines operates six aircraft of this type.
In addition, S7 Airlines was the first Russian airline to receive a modern and efficient Airbus A320neo aircraft. At the end of July, the airliner made its first flights from Moscow to Novosibirsk and Irkutsk.
Airbus A320neo aircraft are more efficient than the previous generation, with increased range and reduced fuel consumption. Among the airliners of its class, this aircraft is the quietest, which provides additional comfort to its passengers. In the near future, the airline is going to receive several more of these airliners, and, eventually, they will replace all the Airbus A320 in the air fleet.
