MiG-31 fighters-interceptors of the Pacific Fleet (PF) practised conducting night air combat in the sky over Kamchatka and the Pacific Ocean waters. The pilots trained to detect, intercept and conduct combat against aircraft of the conditional enemy. The flights were conducted within the framework of the summer combat training plan.
During the summer shift pilots carried out about 30 sorties. In the air, fighters-interceptor worked out at supersonic speeds joint tasks to intercept simulated enemy aircraft at long ranges and maximum altitudes.
Also in the course of flights pilots practised manoeuvring elements with large angles of roll and pitch, conducted air combats on the limit parameters of the sighting complex and worked out a landing approach at night.
