Qatar ready to buy Russian air defense systems' production technologies

Qatar would like to acquire from Russia technologies for the production of air defense systems, Qatari Minister of State for Defense Affairs Khalid bin Muhammad al-Atiyah said.

As for mutual cooperation, it does not amount only to the purchase of air defense systems but also technologies, he said at a meeting with Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu in the wings of the Army 2017 Forum on Wednesday. He said Qatar would like to develop industry and transferred the technologies there.

He also congratulated the Russian minister on the successful beginning of the Army 2017 Forum.

The minister of state said he had instructions from the Amir of Qatar to strengthen relations with Russia in the military sphere and asked the Russian side to help him with the matter.
