Pulkovo Airport sees 25% increase in traffic in the seven months of 2017

In the first 7 months of 2017, Pulkovo St. Petersburg Airport’s traffic amounted to 9,060,022 passengers, a number 25% higher than in the same period of 2016.

Domestic traffic grew by 20.9% to 5,685,821 passengers. International traffic increased by 32.6% and amounted to 3,374,201 passengers.

In January-July of 2017, Pulkovo airport handled 86,357 take-off and landing operations, which represents an increase of 17.5% YOY. The maximum take-off weight handled amounted to 3,006,995 tons, a figure 22.7% higher than in the same period of 2016.

In the first seven months of 2017, Rossiya Airlines, Aeroflot, S7 Airlines, Ural Airlines, UTair were the largest Russian carriers in terms of traffic at Pulkovo. In total, they provided services 5,610,972 passengers at St. Petersburg airport, or 61.9% of the total traffic in this period.

Among foreign airlines, Lufthansa, Belavia, Uzbekistan Airways KLM, and Emirates became the leaders at St. Petersburg airport for January-July 2017. In total, they handled 691,583 passengers at Pulkovo during the 7-month period, or 7.6% of the total airport traffic.

Traffic Figures for July 2017

In July 2017, Pulkovo St. Petersburg Airport provided services to 1,917,052 passengers, a number 23.6% higher than in the same period of 2016.

Domestic traffic increased by 19.9% to 1,065,098 passengers compared to July 2016. International traffic grew by 32.6% YOY, and amounted to 851,954 passengers.

In July 2017, Pulkovo airport handled 15,684 take-off and landing operations, which is an increase of 17.7% to the level of July 2016. The maximum take-off weight handled amounted to 577,915 tons, a figure 24.5% higher than in the same period of 2016.

In July 2017, Pulkovo airport celebrated 15 years of Air Astana service to St. Petersburg, welcomed the half-millionth passenger of Pobeda in 2017 and announced the upcoming launch of a new route in China — the city of Chengdu — to be operated by Sichuan Airlines.
