Russia’s Yamal Airlines will start flights from Moscow-based Zhukovsky Airport to Tajikistanand Kyrgyzstanin mid-September. This statement was made by Ilya Lebedev, Deputy Commercial Director, Yamal Airlines.

“We could not open the sale of our air tickets for a long time because of the long process of negotiations regarding these flights. Air tickets must be sold in advance, and to create depth of sales. We have decided that we would start flight operations since September 15, 2017 but for now we will begin selling air tickets for this and subsequent dates,” Mr. Lebedev told RIA Novosti News Agency, Russia.

“We will adhere those tolerances that we have received and flights will be operated on agreed frequencies. There will be three flights a week to Khujand, Dushanbe, Bishkek andOsh,” Mr. Lebedev added.

The air ticket prices for Yamal Airlines’ flights from Tajikistan’sDushanbe and Khujand to Russia’s Moscoware still unknown.

Yamal Airlines has received permission to fly to Dushanbe and Khujand on July 1, 2017. However, it has not begun to fly so far. The Ministry of Transport of Tajikistanattributed this to the low level of air passenger traffic from the airport in Zhukovsky.

Today, Anvar Nurov, Deputy Director, Civil Aviation Department, Ministry of Transport, Tajikistan, told Asia Plus News Agency, Tajikistan, that “the right to fly on these air routes can be transferred to another air carrier if Yamal Airlines does not start fulfilling its obligations.”
