Emergency Ministry’s aircraft continue protecting settlements and fighting wildfires in Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Area. Joint efforts and close cooperation of ground and aerial crews have kept fires away from the settlements of Aksarka, Priuralsky District and Yagelny, Nadym District.
Integrated use of the aerial and ground crews and their coordinated and coherent actions make fire suppression way more efficient. Beriyev Be-200, Ilyushin Il-76 planes and 2 Mil Mi-8 helicopters owned by the Russian Emergency Ministry are deployed to battle wildfires in Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Area. They have made 11 flights, 90 discharges dropping 647 thousand liters of water.
Additionally, the Emergency Ministry’s aircraft are quickly transporting forces to focus them in the most complex fire situations.
The situation is under constant satellite and air monitoring, development of the most dangers fires is being modelled, UAVs are being actively used. Residential blocks and woods are being patrolled, the people are being kept updated on the situation and steps taken.
A total of more than 11,000 people and more than 3,600 units of equipment provided by the Russian Emergency Ministry are deployed to protect settlements, businesses and infrastructure from wildfires.
