Emergency Ministry’s aircraft keep on protecting settlements and put out wildfires in Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Area. A water-dropping Ilyushin Il-76 plane has arrived today in the town of Salekhard hit hardest by wildfires.

A Beriyev Be-200ChS plane and two Mil Mi-8 helicopters of the Emergency Ministry arrived yesterday in the towns of Nadym and Salekhard from the cities of Krasnoyarsk and Yekaterinburg. The amphibious Be-200ChS dropped more than 12 thousand liters of water over the past 24 hours. Coherent efforts of the Emergency Ministry aircraft kept wildfires off Salekhard.

Each day Ministry’s aircraft make hundreds discharges dropping thousands tons of fire retardants. The situation is under constant satellite and air monitoring, development of the most dangers fires is being modelled, UAVs are being actively used. Residential blocks and woods are being patrolled, the people are being kept updated on the situation and steps taken.

Integrated approach to the use of aerial and ground crews and their coordinated actions make fire suppression efforts way more efficient.

Additionally, the Emergency Ministry’s aircraft are quickly transporting forces to focus them in the most complex fire situations.
