Russian schoolchildren will have a direct connection with the ISS and the Mission Control Center

Yet another Lesson from Space is scheduled for July 22, 2017. Schoolchildren will once again make a direct call to the International Space Station and the Mission Control Center. This time the Lesson from Space will be held simultaneously at two venues – in Tomsk, at the premises of Scientific Library of the Tomsk State Pedagogical University, and in Sochi, at the educational center Sirius. The topic of the new Lesson from Space is the ISS as a Super Lab. The initiator and the developer of the theoretical and practical part of this lesson was Rocket and Space Corporation Energia, which, within the framework of space session at Sirius, is carrying out its educational program to develop a mockup of a Lunar Ascent/Descent Vehicle.

Acting as the experts will be the General Director of RSC Energia Vladimir Solntsev and first deputy general designer Vladimir Soloviev. The competent experts will evaluate the space projects created by the schoolchildren at Sirius. In addition to this, during the lesson, using a 3D printer capable of operating in zero gravity which was developed at NI TPU, RSC Energia and ISPMS SB RAS, a schoolboy from the village of Kozhevnikovo Dmitri REBENKOV will print out the emblem of the educational center Sirius.

The online communications session with a Roscosmos cosmonaut Fyodor YURCHIKHIN, who is currently working onboard the ISS will be provided by the Mission Control Center.

The lesson will be broadcast by the VGTRK affiliate State TV and Radio Company Tomsk.
