RSC Energia will display lunar landing simulator and virtual reality facility at MAKS-2017

Russian Aviaton » Wednesday July 19, 2017 03:21 MSK

Rocket and Space Corporation (RSC) Energia will display at the air show MAKS-2017 its latest technologies for designing rocket and space hardware.

Deployed at the booth of the Corporation will be a mobile center for virtual design engineering of spacecraft and modules, similar to the one which was opened at RSC Energia in April 2017.

The center will make it possible for engineers and technicians using 3D-optics to go inside a virtual vehicle or module and work in the artificial digital space.

In addition to this, visitors to the air show may see a training facility to simulate landing a spacecraft on the lunar surface and a facility to simulate riding a lunar rover.

Special attention will be given to presentations of young people’s projects. The Committee for Innovation Projects of Young People of RSC Energia will present such projects as Parachute System with Elastic Link, Container for Launching Small Spacecraft and a demo rig for wireless transmission of power using a laser beam.

To mark the 60th anniversary of the first artificial Earth satellite Sputnik, RSC Energia will display at MAKS-2017 its full-scale mockup, which will have pride of place in the exhibit, being the symbol of the greatest triumph of our country’s science and technology.

As always, the exhibit will include a small-scale model of the International Space Station, presentation materials and videos about RSC Energia projects and films shot onboard the ISS.

Within the framework of the air show the RSC Energia management plans to meet with representatives of companies from Russia and abroad and hold a number of talks on subjects related to the rocket and space industry.
