In January-June 2017, the airports of Sochi, Anapa, Krasnodar and Gelendzhik operating within the Basel Aero airport holding served 4.515 million passengers (+14% year-on-year), the holding informed.
The airports served 345,699 international passengers (+75%), 4.169 million domestic air passengers (+10%). The number of departures increased by 13% to 20,403, cargo and mail handling exceeded 6,843 tonnes (+11%).
The passenger throughput of Krasnodar International Airport increased by 18% to 1.548 million; the passenger throughput of Anapa International Airport decreased by 3% to more than 435,000; the passenger flow of Gelendzhik airport exceeded 84,000 passengers (+32%).
The passenger flow of Sochi International Airport increased by 14% to 2.447 million, including more than 2.373 domestic air passengers (+13%), more than 74,000 international passengers (+47%).
Basel Aero established in 2007 manages Basic Element's airport assets. Since June 2012, it has been operating as a joint venture of Basic Element, Sberbank of Russia and Changi Airports International (Changi Airport Group's wholly owned subsidiary). Today, Basel Aero is managing airports in Krasnodar, Sochi, Gelendzhik and Anapa. The airports account for more than 7% of Russia's total passenger traffic and ca. 1.5% of the total cargo flow.
In January-May 2017, the airports of Basel Aero served 3.326 million passengers (+18% year-on-year).
