The battalion of S-300 ‘Favorit’ AAMS of the WMD’s anti-aircraft missile regiment stationed in the Voronezh Region was raised in alarm under the two-side air defence and aviation exercise.

The battalion is making a multi-kilometre march to one of the ranges, where it will begin to work out tasks for the intended purpose. In the course of the advance, countering subversive-and-reconnaissance attacks of the imaginary enemy groups and overcoming the contaminated terrain are worked out.

Upon arrival at the test site, the S-300 AAMS systems will have to fulfil the tasks of repulsing the air strike of the imaginary enemy, in whose role MiG-31 high-altitude fighters will operate.

The two-side exercise will last until 9 June. More than 300 servicemen are taking part in it, over 150 units of weapons and military equipment are involved.
