Russia’s VIM Airlines has joined IATA after having its IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) renewed in May.

IATA membership will give the airline the opportunity to introduce new technologies and services, VIM said in a statement June 29. It will also simplify the payment processes across industry partners, “which means new competitive advantages, costs cut and revenue growth.”

VIM-AVIA became the operator of IOSA back in 2010 after passing its first international audit to comply with ISARP's operational safety standards.

VIM-AVIA is one of the TOP-10 Russian airlines. In 2016, the airline carried more than 2.07 million passengers. The basis of VIM-AVIA's activity consists of regular and charter passenger transportation from Moscow and regional Russian centers to the cities of Russia, Central Asia and Europe.

The VIM-AVIA operates aircrafts from the leading manufacturers Airbus and Boeing. Fleet consists of Boeing 737-500, Boeing 757-200, Boeing 767-300, Boeing 777-200, Boeing 777-300, Airbus A319-111 and Airbus A330-200. The airline is based at Moscow's Domodedovo airport.
