The United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) keeps plans to create a 130-seat version of the SSJ100, the implementation of the project depends on the availability of an engine, the company's President Yuri Slyusar said at the Paris air show.
The program of SSJ100NG depends on the availability of engines with sufficient thrust. Now UAC is in talks with Safran and Russia’s Saturn (developers the SaM-146 engine for the SSJ100), said Slyusar.
The possibility of creating stretched SSJ100 aircraft was introduced in 2012, but then the project financing was suspended. In the summer of 2015, the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia Denis Manturov announced the need to consider the development of the SSJ100 project with an increase in passenger capacity to 115-130 people. The SaM146 engine installed on the SSJ100 is not suitable for aircraft modification, Manturov said.
