Antiterrorist exercise with participation of enforcement structures of Russia and Tajikistan was conducted at the range Lyaur near Dushanbe.
According to the conception, according to reconnaissance data a detachment of 350 militants, which intended to seize a settlement and block a federal road. Using Mi-8 helicopter leaflets with proposal to surrender were dropped over the settlement. Having received a refusal, the special assault team landed on the roof of the illegal armed formation’s headquarters and began to mop up the terrain.
In the course of the exercise, the Mi-24 helicopter destroyed three automobiles of imaginary militants, and attacked their main column by means of blasting controlled mine fields, as well as using artillery fire, tanks, flamethrowers and grenade launchers.
As a result, the simulated terrorists were destroyed by missile attack from a group of Mi-8 helicopters.
From the Russian side, the exercise ‘Dushanbe-Antiterror-2017’ carried out under coordination of the CIS Anti-Terrorist Centre involved about 2,000 servicemen and more than 300 units of equipment, including more than 30 aircraft and helicopters.
